Gun-Toting Scrooge Robs GameStop, Shoots Compliant Clerk
‘Tis the season to be a jerk. At least, if you’re the guy who held up the GameStop on Hiawassee Road in Orange County, Florida.
WFTV Orlando reports that a gunman walked into the store minutes after opening on Monday morning, and despite the clerk complying with everything he asked, shot him in the leg anyway. “From what we know so far, there doesn’t appear to be a struggle and it’s preliminary, but it looks like the suspect got what he wanted and had no reason to shoot, but he did anyway,” said Lt. Eddie Appleby, Orange County Sheriff’s Office.
The perpetrator got away with a Wii and several games after waiting with the clerk and a customer for the security timer on the store’s safe to expire.
On the bright side, at least Mr. Scumbag was caught clearly on camera, which detectives hope will help land him behind bars. Meanwhile, the clerk is expected to be okay, and called his manager from the hospital to say he’s doing well.
